While looking for a Japanese garden in the town of Kent, I came across this odd little park and pavillion - it was not on my lists of things to find, but was a delightful surprise. Yangzhou park is part of the Burlington Green, also know as the International Sister Cities Park, and is located near the public library.
The central feature of this small park is the Chinese pavilion, built to celebrate the friendship between Kent and Yangzhou, as well as the culture of Yangzhou, China (northwest of Shanghai).
Built in 1993, the pavilion is a wonderful structure and a plaque nearby reads: "The Chinese Friendship Pavilion was given to the City of Kent by the people of Yangzhou, China in May 1995, to commemorate the Sister City Agreement between Kent and Yangzhou"
