The Japanese garden at Point Defiance is a bit odd. Not too much authenticity, a sort of combination of late 19th/early 20th century Orientalism going on. The garden area on the northern side of the "Pagoda" building really wasn't Japanese at all (I included no photos). Apparently the plan is to completely redo the entire garden over the next 4-5 years and make it an authentic garden. What you see here will soon no longer exist.
